New to the GYROTONIC® Method?

The GYROTONIC® Method is growing in popularity across Canada for its unique, rhythmic and fluid movements that are accessible and beneficial to everyone — from athletes, to office workers, to those recovering from an injury, and especially to seniors.

Many have said: “You look like you’re dancing!” when observing a class. The Gyrotonic Method teaches principles of movement that instill inner balance, graceful posture and mindful moving through an endless variety of exercises. We focus on spinal health by means of 360 degree movements of the spine, along with learning how to access your full body strength through discovering balanced body alignment and connection.

Due to increased stress in daily life, many are seeking a movement method that addresses the nervous system, through mindfulness and deep breathing, to experience benefits beyond a traditional fitness class. The Gyrotonic Method is just that. We teach deep breathing, mindfulness and opening energetic pathways in the body which brings immediate benefits to all who try it.

The Gyrotonic Method is practiced on five pieces of specialized equipment. Each piece is beautifully crafted to be fully customizable to support every body type and shape, while providing a variety of environments to train on.

The Pulley Tower Combination Unit

This is the foundational piece of equipment that has over thirty years of research and development behind it. It is the most widely used piece of Gyrotonic equipment.

The Jumping Stretching Board

Provides sliding, jumping and rotational environments, including a set of ballet bars for additional exercises.

The GYROTONER®

Facilitates shoulder and hip articulation to increase range of motion on a variety of planes. A favourite of those with shoulder pain!

The Leg Extension Unit

Teaches backline body connection through a series of upper/lower body and hand/foot coordination movement sequences. It does wonders for foot/leg rehabilitation!

The ARCHWAY®

A physically demanding, but very fun, piece of specialized equipment. It provides a hanging environment to train on. Applying Gyrotonic principles of movement on this challenging piece of equipment builds back and shoulder strength very efficiently. If you enjoy rock climbing, gymnastics or upper body strength workouts, you’ll love the dynamic exercises done on the Archway!
